Overview
Kimley-Horn's Seattle, Washington (WA) office is seeking a Civil Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join their Transit team!
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will contribute to the production and delivery of transit design projects with a particular focus on, but not limited to Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects.
The qualified individual will assist in managing and lead a Transit team while building and managing relationships with key clients.
Has an entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for growth in their personal practice while contributing to the growth of our transportation engineering practice in the local area and beyond
Assists in marketing and business development efforts with our existing local municipal, state, and private clients, while delivering a wide variety of transit related projects with our growing team of transit professionals
Operating with integrity and sound business principals
Providing vision, business planning and strategy
Establishing goals
Building and maintaining positive client relationships
Having open communication with your partners and team
Growing and leading a transit practice
Various tasks may include corridor concept development, assistance in public outreach, and transit evaluation.
This role will require a high degree of multi-disciplinary coordination.
Our Project Managers manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business

This is an in-person role.
Qualifications
Registered Professional Engineering (P.E.) license
7+ years of transit-focused engineering experience including:
Transit corridor design experience, focusd on (but not limited to) BRT and LRT modes
Track/guideway design
Roadway design
Station design, including park-and-ride facilities
Outgoing, self-motivated team player
High level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience communicating and working with clients
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation
Ability to balance priorities among multiple projects
Salary Range
$135,000 - $155,000
Eligible for Performance Based Bonus Compensation
