
Material Handler Equipment (Weekend Shift)

Overview
We are seeking a full‑time Material Handler – Equipment (Weekend Shift: Saturday‑Tuesday 6am to 4:30pm) at Garmin’s U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will operate material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count material accurately while keeping a safe and clean work environment.
Essential Functions
Examine, sort, arrange, count, store, pick and pack items for storage or shipment according to established procedures or customer requirements.
Maintain accuracy of inventory, transactions, and material movement.
Follow all corporate and departmental procedures.
Pull or audit material as required for KANBAN, shop order, move order or sales order requirements.
Issue or transact material requested through withdrawal forms.
Receive, transact, and sort inbound material.
Replenish material into primary picking locations.
Adhere to FIFO and LIFO policies as defined in procedures.
Follow Electronic Static Discharge (ESD) guidelines for static‑sensitive materials.
Pack materials to ensure adequate delivery to internal or external customers.
Perform cycle counts as required.
Operate an RF scanner device to transact or move material.
Cross‑train as needed to learn all material handler functions.
Meet quality and productivity metrics.
Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment and acceptable organization/cleanliness.
Accept responsibility for work assignments and job duties and be accountable for successful completion.
Comply with all safety standards and policies.
Work variable and flexible hours, including overtime.
Comply with HRD‑003 (Garmin’s Attendance Policy).
Lifting up to 55 pounds using safe techniques.
Operate equipment rated for operators 300 pounds or less.
Execute plans given by a supervisor or mentor and communicate status of work to the supervisor.
Accurately use KiSoft or Oracle to record transactions and locate inventory.
Understand 5S standards and Lean & DFT principles.
Apply department policies and procedures.
Ensure cleanliness by wearing SD shoes (static‑dissipative footwear) and meeting ESD requirements for the entire shift.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
High degree of dexterity and eye coordination.
Previous equipment‑related experience.
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds using safe lifting techniques.
Ability to operate equipment rated for operators 300 pounds or less.
Ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist, and use hands for up to 10 hours.
Availability for overtime.
Ability to walk long distances.
Desired Qualifications
Previous warehouse or related experience.
Database experience including Microsoft Excel and Access.
Previous Oracle experience.
