As a Project Specialist, you will manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure that all deadlines are met. You will also take the lead on projects by updating customers daily, billing out loads, tracking detention, delegating tasks, managing the productivity of your team and contacting brokers. We’re a team at Takkion, so outside of your projects your secondary mission would be to support the transportation operations in any way possible. The Project Specialist reports to the Senior Manager-Transportation.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of assigned projects.
Responsibilities
Bill out loads
Update project spreadsheets
Send out daily update emails regarding loading schedules, detention etc.
Contact brokers to fill future lanes or current holes in lanes
Track detention for current projects
Set up new brokers
Set up new customers
Support daily operations of transportation segment
Improve Project Processes and Procedures
Create and verify route surveys
Write Carrier Methods Statements
Build Trailer Configurations
Support Permit Process
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–5 years of project coordination, transportation, logistics, or operations experience
Strong organizational and multitasking skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with transportation management systems (TMS)
Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance
Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, or similar)
Experience in construction, infrastructure, logistics, or fleet operations
