
Accounting Clerk I

Overview
Accounting Clerk I with the Kentucky Department of Parks, Tourism, Arts, & Heritage Cabinet. Location: Kenlake State Resort Park, Hardin, KY. The position supports the accounting department with accurate financial records, requiring a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical work.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process pay documents (procards and EMARS) for various park departments
Prepare and process daily business reports and OP log, ensuring accuracy in counting, verifying, and balancing receipts and bank deposits
Prepare and post internal financial reports, including expenditure ledger, purchase ledger, food cost report, and audit inventory of park facilities
Serve as the human resource generalist (HRG) for the park, efficiently processing payroll and personnel actions
Assist with other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support the team
Minimum Requirements
Education:
High school graduate
Experience, Training, or Skills:
Two years of accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience
Substitute Education for Experience:
Additional education in accounting, business administration, business education, office administration, or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis; or Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Certification in Accounting or KCTCS Certification as an Accounting Recordkeeping Specialist will substitute for the required experience
Substitute Experience for Education:
Additional accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis

Working Conditions
Incumbents typically perform work in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
