Dohrn is seeking a Full Time City Dispatcher for our Terminal in St. Louis, MO
Hours
Monday-Friday Start Time 9:00 AM (10 hour shifts)
Salary
$65,000/yr; $70,000 after 1 year of service

Position Summary
The City Dispatcher is responsible for overseeing the daily Pickup and Delivery (P&D) operations at the St. Louis terminal. This role ensures safe, efficient, and on‑time execution of city routes while maintaining cost control, service quality, and compliance with all company, state, and federal regulations. The City Dispatcher provides leadership and direction to hourly operations employees, coordinates routing and dock activity, monitors line haul performance, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to support overall terminal success.
Essential Functions
Provide training, supervision, feedback, and discipline for hourly Operations team members
Route City operation
Manage the daily performance of the City Pickup and Delivery Operation for optimal safety, performance, on‑time Service, cost control, and claims prevention
Ensure On‑time Delivery service in accordance with the organizational goals by ensuring pick‑ups and deliveries are made timely, efficiently, and returns are kept to a minimum
Monitor Line Haul operation
Monitor Dock performance and efficiency and adjust manpower as needed
Solve problems regarding lost and missing freight
Communicate efficiently with other departments to ensure a successful operation
Work in a safe and professional manner so as to reduce personal risks and risk to fellow employees
Report all facility problems to the Facility Maintenance Department
Comply with federal, state, and company regulations
Process all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the job
Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times
Perform other duties as needed
Minimum Requirements
A minimum age of 18
High School completion or equivalent
Valid Driver License
Supervisory experience required
Ability to work any shift
Must have the knowledge and ability to perform all Operations jobs in the Terminal including Dock, Dispatch, Warehouse, and Routing
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong leadership skills
Detail‑oriented, organized
Must meet all physical requirements
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as specified in the job description
Weekend and night hours occasionally required
Primarily sedentary work; Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time; May be occasionally required to exert up to 50 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
The office environment is generally favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc; Environment includes co‑workers talking on the phone within close proximity
Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering, grasping, and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers
Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; May be occasionally exposed to noise including telephone, office machinery, and conversations of others
