M-Sat (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM) Hours/Times may vary

Overview:

The Commercial Truck Driver is responsible for their truck and the load on the attached trailer. They deliver designated vehicles to the company’s customers in a safe and timely manner. Most deliveries will be local and rarely overnight.

Summary:

The Commercial Truck Driver handles safe and timely vehicle delivery, drives and maintains assigned trucks, and works with supervisors to plan routes.

Essential Duties

Drive near and far distances to deliver vehicles to customers

Load and unload cargo

Record cargo deliveries

Refuel and clean vehicle

Report road incidents to direct supervisor

Follow traffic laws

Inspect trucks and record issues

Follow accident procedures

Keep activities log and log hours

Maintain positive and professional attitude with customers

Keep commercial driver license up to date

Remains fully compliant with Company HR trainings

Maintain professional and courteous attitude, wardrobe, and grooming

Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Must obtain (or be in process of obtaining) commercial driver’s license

Must have clean driving record

Previous experience preferred

Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Must be focused, detail oriented, and very thorough

Valid Class A driver’s license required;

2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred;

Must have clean driving record—at minimum, no more than two (2) moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years and no convictions for a DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving;

Must pass drug test and consent to drug tests as required under federal law;

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time;

Must operate a vehicle safely within DOT regulations that govern safe driving, hours of service, inspection, maintenance, and, if applicable, transportation of hazardous materials;

Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen, Clearinghouse, and other DOT/FMCSA-related safety checks.

Applicants for positions that require driving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) at any time will be required to undergo controlled substances and, at our discretion, alcohol testing prior to employment and will be subject to further testing throughout their period of employment. Applicants will also be asked to sign forms for release of information from previous employers in all cases where driving a CMV was one of your functions. Failure to sign will prevent this employer from using you as a CMV driver.
