ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR –
Oversees daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and Bank policies. The role offers strong visibility and leadership of the Accounting team, with the opportunity to directly influence financial operations, reporting, and process improvements. We’re looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and being a key part of a small, high-performing team.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Minimum of four (4) years of accounting experience in banking or a related financial services environment.

Strong understanding of GAAP accounting standards, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

Knowledge of bank operations, fixed assets, investments, accounts payables, wire/ACH processing, cash management, and borrowings.

Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems. Oracle Financial system experience preferred.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Must be detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and have good time-management skills.

Comfortable wearing multiple hats and working independently.

Specific Job Functions

Oversee and maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and stale reconciling items in a timely manner.

Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.

Maintain accurate accounting records for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, investments, the allowance for credit losses and accruals.

Assist with regulatory reporting, including Call Reports, Board reporting, and internal reports.

Support internal and external audits, including regulatory exams.

Help develop and strengthen internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and bank requirements.

Monitor cash, investments, and liquidity daily.

Lead, develop, and manage the Accounting/Finance team; continually seeking and implementing opportunities to streamline and improve departmental operations through technology, including training staff to better utilize financial and accounting software.

Complete all new hire and quarterly BVS Compliance training.

All other duties as assigned to meet organizational requirements.
