Account Manager, Commercial Grounds Management
Team: Commercial Grounds Management (CGM)
Reports to: Branch Manager
Role Summary
The Account Manager drives retention, enhancement sales, and new CGM revenue while serving as the day‑to‑day field partner for assigned clients. You’ll translate customer expectations into clear production plans, coordinate resources across departments, and ensure safe, consistent, high‑quality service delivery. This role blends client service, sales, planning, and operational leadership.
Client Service & Sales
Serve as the primary field contact for assigned clients; maintain proactive, professional communication and site walks.
Own customer retention across your portfolio; address issues quickly and close the loop.
Meet or exceed monthly enhancement sales goals, act as the enhancement lead for your sites from scoping through closeout.
Identify upselling opportunities and new CGM work; gather site data and develop estimates/proposals.
Build relationships with property managers, contractors, and subcontractors to support growth.
Operations & Production
Convert client expectations into actionable work plans and service notes for production teams.
Partner with Production Managers/Account Managers to deliver a consistent product across branches.
Align schedules for seasonal work (mulch, flowers, pruning, leaf, irrigation, turf/IPM) with contract requirements.
Coordinate cross‑functional support (Irrigation, Lawn Care/IPM, Enhancements, Fleet, Safety) as needed.
Safely operate company vehicles; model safe work practices.
Support winter operations (e.g., snow/ice response) per branch plan.
Management, Planning & Admin
Stay current on green‑industry best practices, products, and regulatory requirements.
Track portfolio health (quality scores, renewal status, enhancements pipeline; support AR as needed).
Prepare site reports, proposals, scopes, and change orders; maintain accurate CRM/job files.
Forecast labor/material needs with branch leadership; help balance route density and productivity.
Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance where applicable.
Success Metrics
Portfolio retention and renewal rate
Monthly enhancement sales vs. target
Response/resolution times for client requests
Quality audit scores and rework rate
On‑time, on‑budget completion of contracted and extra work
Physical & Work Environment
Field‑based with regular site travel; exposure to seasonal weather.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs; frequent walking, bending, stooping; standing for extended periods.

Valid North Carolina Driver’s license with a good driving record.
Ability to acquire North Carolina Pesticide applicator’s license.
Good communication skills and ability to motivate others.
Ability to acquire CLT certification.

Practice safety with chemicals and all equipment.
Wear company‑provided uniforms and use personal protective equipment as needed.
Lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
Bend and stoop on a continual basis.
Work outside in all weather conditions.
Work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks.
Required Experience
Minimum two‑year college degree and at least two years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination.
