
Research Technician III - Core Facilities

Overview
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified applicant to work as part of a team in a core facility focused on RNA in situ hybridization (ISH). Essential functions and duties include mouse handling and tissue preparation (including dissection), cryostat sectioning, histology, ISH/histology related image processing and routine laboratory tasks such as solution preparation, database entry and scientific equipment maintenance. In addition, the applicant must have excellent communication, time management and organizational skills, and will be required to collect and appropriately document experimental results.
Responsibilities
Assist with mouse dissections and tissue embedding.
Cryostat sectioning of frozen tissues, including mouse brain.
In situ hybridization preparation, set up and execution.
Imaging on slide scanners.
Routine laboratory tasks such as solution preparation, database entry and scientific equipment maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
Strong applicants will have experience in handling mice, dissection, sectioning and imaging expertise.
Highly motivated individuals can be trained in the specific skills required.
Work Authorization
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
