Job Overview
Position: Administrative Assistant I or II at Entergy Louisiana, LLC. Work place flexibility: onsite. Primary location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Travel up to 25%.
Responsibilities
Work under minimal supervision
Plan and layout work details
Perform all phases of computer clerical support for assigned department
Create and maintain files, records, reports, maps, charts, etc.
Operate standard office equipment
Communicate effectively and maintain professionalism during stressful conditions when dealing with internal and external customers
Create and assist with special projects including but not limited to sensitive and confidential data
Provide support for outage restorations (including out of town) during scheduled and non-scheduled hours as required
Learn company policies, procedures and responsibilities of assigned department
Train personnel regarding departmental functions and policies
Use independent decision-making
Check the work of others and adhere to established departmental policies
Administrative Assistant I Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
General knowledge of clerical work and familiarity with all phases of work
Some knowledge of utility operations practices and regulations
Good verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of company computer programs and terminal applications
Good analytical skills to assist supervisor in reviewing documents such as payroll, budget, or other assigned items
Ability to work under stressful conditions
Knowledge of company organizational operations to which assigned
Qualify for vehicle operator’s license
Meet all qualifications of Administrative Assistant I
Administrative Assistant II Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
General knowledge of clerical work and familiarity with all phases of work performed in the assigned group
Some knowledge of utility operations practices and regulations
Good analytical skills to assist supervisor in reviewing documents such as payroll, budget, or other assigned items
Proficient in the use of company computer programs and terminal applications
Ability to work under stressful conditions
Knowledge of company organizational operations to which assigned
Good verbal and written communication skills
Qualify for vehicle operator’s license
Company Testing
Must be SASS Test Recommended
Physical Qualifications
Must have major life activities: seeing, hearing, speaking
Have strength and endurance adequate to discharge assigned duties
Personal Qualifications
Be energetic and alert
Be willing to work under unusual surroundings, as well as normal working conditions pertaining to this job
Be able to receive and execute orders and instructions in such a manner as to inspire respect of associates
Have temperament suited to work of a routine and confining nature and be able to work in harmony with other employees
Understand importance of treating certain items handled as confidential and ability to recognize such items
Must possess good judgment and desire to work with people; must be alert, aggressive, tactful, resourceful, cooperative and demonstrate initiative for coordinating department in absence of management
