
Warehouse Associate - Selector

Shift and Pay
Monday – Thursday 5:00am to 3:30p.
Payrate: $23.35/HR.
Summary
Position responsible for all general warehouse functions including loading, receiving, put‑away, stocking, selection of product, and order packing. All functions, except loading, require specific equipment or process certification.
Loading Responsibilities
Appropriately handle product to minimize damage during loading.
Communicate any damage found or caused during loading to appropriate personnel.
Inspect trailer cleanliness prior to loading.
Ensure all packages meet warehouse standards before loading (no visible damage, boxes securely closed, address labels affixed and readable, etc.).
Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of the dock areas.
Receiving Responsibilities
Appropriately handle product to minimize damage during unloading and receiving.
Accurately record product delivered versus the Bill of Lading/Receiving Worksheets and create OS&D paperwork when necessary.
Stage product efficiently for put‑away.
Communicate any damage found or caused during unloading/receiving to appropriate personnel.
Must be certified on appropriate material handling equipment.
Operate appropriate material handling equipment (forklifts, stand‑up order selectors, reach trucks) safely and orderly to reduce accidents and injuries.
Ensure MHE is maintained (daily inspection) and clean; report repair or service needs to supervisor.
Put‑away / Stocking Responsibilities
Appropriately handle product to minimize damage during put‑away and stocking.
Remove shrink wrap, bands, or tape when putting a pallet into a selection location as required.
Accurately scan product and put product in correct slots.
Communicate any damage found or caused during put‑away and stocking to appropriate personnel.
Must be certified on appropriate material handling equipment.
Operate appropriate material handling equipment safely and orderly.
Ensure MHE is maintained (daily inspection) and clean; report repair or service needs to supervisor.
Selection Responsibilities
Appropriately handle product to minimize damage during selection.
Accurately select product for outbound shipments.
Accurately stage and notate float numbers on pallets.
Communicate any damage found or caused during selection to appropriate personnel.
Must be certified on appropriate material handling equipment.
Operate appropriate material handling equipment safely and orderly.
Ensure MHE is maintained (daily inspection) and clean; report repair or service needs to supervisor.
Order Packing Responsibilities
Appropriately handle product to minimize damage during packaging.
Accurately sort, segregate, and package product to be shipped to customers (both FedEx and LTL).
Must be able to recognize products by name/packaging.
Ensure all packages meet warehouse standards after packing (no visible damage, boxes securely closed, address labels affixed and readable, etc.).
Must be certified on specific packing equipment and processes.
All Functions Responsibilities
Work effectively with immediate supervisor to prevent warehouse shrink (product loss).
Cross‑train and work in other warehouse functions and areas on a qualified and as‑needed basis.
Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work area.
Report any unfixable or unsafe issue immediately to the supervisor.
Observe and enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuries.
Observe proper lifting techniques and physical work practices as defined in the Preferred Work Methods documentation.
Use warehouse computers and RF equipment in a safe and professional manner.
Understand and comply with all applicable company policies (attendance, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Associate Handbook, etc.).
Ensure compliance with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (OSHA, AIB, etc.).
Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Supervisor Responsibilities
None.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have the ability to pass a post‑offer functional capacity test.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED preferred, or one year of warehouse‑related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to read and write simple correspondence; and to speak effectively in one‑on‑one and in small group situations.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Certification on material handling equipment is required, or the ability to become certified.
Physical Requirements of the Position
The associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit; sit/stand on MHE equipment and be comfortable with heights up to 25 feet; lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, occasionally 41‑55 pounds, and occasionally 56‑100 pounds; must have several vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Job duties are performed in a warehouse environment; exposed to fast moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment, variable temperatures and humidity, vehicle emissions, and infrequently to contained toxic or caustic chemicals; noise level usually loud.
Work Hours
This is a full‑time position. The incumbent must be willing to work a varying schedule that may include shift work, weekdays or weekends, and some holidays; work hours may vary or change based on customer order requirements.
Travel
The position does not require travel.
