Sr Advanced Design Engineer – Sustaining Engineer

This onsite role is located in Arvada, CO and reports directly to the Engineering Manager. The Sr. Advanced Design Engineer – Sustaining Engineer provides daily engineering support to project management and operations throughout the engineering and production cycle. Each pump or compressor is engineered to order and requires multiple analysis tools to verify the design. The primary responsibility is to provide technical support across all areas of the company, support the update of drawings, designs, and tools, and assist in executing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the technical design requirements for our legacy product lines of high-speed centrifugal pumps and compressors
Aid in the disposition of non-conforming parts and troubleshoot test and assembly issues
Assist in preparing studies and reports when called upon
Evaluate and improve the robustness of product-line extensions through design and/or testing validation
Interact with customers to solve reliability issues and answer general product questions
Actively participate in maintaining a positive culture and a safe working environment
Work with key suppliers for gearbox and process-end seals to correct drawing errors and ensure proper functionality of our machines
Evaluate proper bearing selection for rotating equipment and maintain the drawing library of components used in each product line
Field questions on different types of vibration measurements and perform analysis of recorded data to troubleshoot unstable machines
Evaluate MAWP for products based on material, NDE, and temperature
Verify compressor designs and assemblies to support order execution
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering preferred
5 or more years of experience in a similar position
Proficiency with Siemens NX or similar 3D modeling software
Prior experience with pressure-containing components and instruments
Experience with design of rotating equipment, preferably compressors or pumps
Experience designing mechanical components with FEA

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $117,000 - $146,000. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, and market and business considerations.
