Warehouse Worker (Forklift Certified)

SUMMARY
Warehouse Worker (Forklift Certified) inspects donated items for defects and determines their appropriate outcome based on established quality standards. Responsibilities include sorting, pricing, tagging, and preparing both textile and non-textile items for sale, recycling, or disposal. The position requires meeting daily production quotas while maintaining a low error rate, adhering to safety protocols, and being available to work on weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Remove items from bins or carts for close inspection to determine if item is saleable.

Scan clothing/textile items for defects such as holes, rips, tears, misaligned or missing fasteners or trim, and variations in color of fabric. Examine fabric for holes or stains. Sort textiles to determine quality and price or assign to As-Is, bale, or dump as appropriate.

For non-clothing items, scan items for defects such as cracks, rust, broken or missing pieces, stains, and operational status. Sort and price items accordingly and clean as needed.

Hang, tag, and price textile and non-textile items.

Work at different stations as production needs require or stock as needed.

Must meet the following production standards:

Grade and sort 2.5 carts or 486 units per hour with an error rate of less than 5%.

Complete (sort, hang, tag) ½ of a rack of clothing per hour or complete (sort, price) 4 totes of non-textile items per hour.

Conduct work in a safe and responsible manner utilizing protective clothing and equipment and comply with safety standards.

Be aware of and adhere to all company and safety policies and procedures.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current forklift certification (or ability to obtain one)

Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Occasionally maneuver wheeled containers weighing up to 100 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
