Customer Service Representative - Adult GI - Medical Plaza One

Position Summary
Customer Service Representative – Adult Gastroenterology (GI) at Lee Health. The role is the first point of connection for patients and families, scheduling appointments, managing patient calls, and supporting front‑end operations in a busy specialty clinic.

Work Details
Full time, Shift 1 – 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Minimum to midpoint pay rate: $20.00 – $23.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

Handle telephones, call triage, and patient appointment scheduling.

Perform patient check‑in, insurance verification, authorizations, pre‑certifications, and referrals.

Post charges, perform initial collections, and prepare accurate billing.

Maintain medical records and support workers’ compensation, commercial carrier, employee health, and corporate accounts as needed.

Respond to late hours, holidays, and weekends as required. Perform other duties assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.

Less than 1 year of clerical/administrative experience; insurance or customer service experience preferred.

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. May need additional certification within 90 days of hire.

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, IT/computer proficiency, basic math, and knowledge of insurance verification and medical billing are needed.
