About the Job
The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in leading a customer‑focused, top‑line sales‑driven, profitable and productive store location. The role requires inspiring and motivating the team by exhibiting core value behaviors—including a customer‑focused selling culture and execution of the store’s KPIs—while holding employees accountable to all company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Display a customer‑focused mindset at all times and ensure all team members deliver an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience.
Handle customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures, attempting to "solve for yes" and escalating issues as appropriate.
Maintain a clean and well‑organized store and stockroom, promoting a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience.
Share customer feedback with the leadership team to improve overall service.
Serve as floor supervisor as needed to cover non‑peak periods (e.g., breaks).
Hold self and team responsible for accomplishing all operational tasks.
Coach and provide feedback on Sales Associate performance.
Support associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
Provide direction to associates to ensure understanding of company directives and standards.
Prioritize and delegate tasks to meet all operational needs.
Support and execute visual directives, maintaining visual standards set by the company.
Drive efficiency in all operational store processes.
Maintain merchandise flow, filling and presentation standards throughout the store and stockroom.
Ensure all store associates follow all policies, procedures, and Safety Program practices.
Reflect the PacSun brand by demonstrating passion and affinity for product, brands, fashion, and trends.
Demonstrate willingness, aptitude, and initiative to learn new information about product, brands, fashion, and trends.
Qualifications
Passion for product, brands, fashion, and trends.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Strong communication skills.
Excellent time‑management skills.
Proficient in math and possess strong computer skills.
Leadership & Development Qualities

Physical Requirements
Frequent lifting or moving of up to 20 pounds, and occasionally up to 35 pounds.
Frequent sitting and standing for long periods, and climbing ladders as needed.
Regularly required to talk or hear; sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel; reach, twist, or squat.
Must maneuver around sales floor, stockroom, and office areas.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
Hotel, airplane, and car travel may be required for SM and above roles only.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full‑time position requiring 32‑40 hours per week. As a national retailer, flexibility with the work schedule—including weekends, nights, and peak holiday periods—is required.
