Coordinator of Military Services
The Coordinator of Military Services coordinates services and support for military-connected students, including active‑duty service members, veterans, and their eligible dependents. Serving as the University’s School Certifying Official, this position administers VA education benefits, ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, and assists students in navigating benefit eligibility and certification processes. The Coordinator collaborates with campus departments to support the enrollment, records, and benefit needs of military‑affiliated students.

Responsibilities
Serve as the University’s School Certifying Official for VA education benefits; certify enrollment for eligible students, maintain required documentation and databases, and ensure compliance with Department of Veterans Affairs regulations and applicable federal and state policies. Respond to audits, reporting requests, and regulatory updates related to veteran education benefits.
Provide guidance and support to active‑duty service members, veterans, and their eligible dependents regarding VA education benefits and military tuition assistance. Assist students with the benefit application process, explain eligibility requirements, and support students in navigating enrollment, registration, and academic program options to maintain benefit eligibility.
Maintain accurate records and processes related to military and veteran students, including enrollment certification forms, benefit documentation, and database management. Coordinate with the Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and other campus departments to ensure accurate processing of student records and financial benefits.
Lead compliance and program review visits related to veteran education benefits, including preparation of required documentation, coordination with campus partners, hosting review meetings, and completing follow‑up actions related to findings or recommendations.
Participate in staff meetings, training programs, taskforce meetings, and collaborate with other departments as needed.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred: Master’s degree
Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.
Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Enrollment Services and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong organizational and administrative skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems. Experience interpreting policies, maintaining accurate records, and working with confidential information is preferred.
Commitment to a high level of customer service.
Knowledge of military culture and familiarity with educational benefits available to active‑duty service members, veterans, and their dependents.
Working knowledge of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits, including GI Bill programs, and Department of Defense tuition assistance.
Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and institutional regulations related to veteran education benefits while ensuring compliance.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive student information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work within student information systems and databases.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with campus departments and external partners.
