
Bilingual Community Health Outreach Worker

Job Summary
Reporting to the Office Supervisor, you will promote Cancer Screening Services through strategic community engagement and enrollment efforts. The primary duties include representing the program at health fairs, community events and provider visits to recruit eligible clients for no-cost breast, cervical and lung cancer screenings.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate verbally fluently in both English and Spanish; provide interpretation services.
Assist with administrative tasks such as phone inquiries, appointment scheduling, and client follow-up.
Travel to community events using a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement; must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.
May be required to work evenings and weekends occasionally.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Outreach experience and comfort speaking to the public.
Some familiarity with medical terminology (preferred but not required).
Benefits
Participation in the County’s group health plan including prescription, dental, and optical coverage, paid holidays and sick leave. Optional deferred compensation program at employee's own expense.
Compensation
$20.00 per hour

Hours
40 hours per week; full-time county contractual.
