Job Overview:
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving growth within the data center liquid cooling ecosystem. This position focuses on expanding the adoption of pumps and fluid‑transfer solutions used in CDUs (Coolant Distribution Units), liquid‑to‑liquid and liquid‑to‑air cooling systems, secondary coolant loops, and facility‑level thermal management.
The BDM will cultivate and grow relationships across the data center value chain—including CDU OEMs, mechanical design engineers, thermal architects, EPC firms, hyperscale and colocation operators, plant managers, facility managers, and mechanical contractors. The goal is to increase specification wins, develop new business opportunities, and strengthen market presence in mission‑critical cooling applications.
The ideal candidate has direct experience in the data center market, particularly in liquid cooling, thermal systems, HVAC/mechanical infrastructure, pumps, or flow control technologies.
Responsibilities:
Data Center Market Development & Specification Influence
Build and grow relationships with CDU builders, mechanical engineers, consulting engineering firms, and facility engineering teams to drive specification of FTT components in data center cooling systems.
Identify opportunities across hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, and HPC data centers.
Influence early‑stage design for primary and secondary coolant loops, pump skids, thermal transfer systems, dielectric fluid platforms, and facility water systems.
Map buying centers across owner/operators, OEMs, integrators, and EPC firms to maximize influence on infrastructure design and procurement.
Channel Expansion & Strategic Partnerships
Identify and onboard distribution partners, system integrators, and value‑added resellers specializing in data center infrastructure and thermal management solutions.
Develop channel strategies that support stocking models, demand forecasting, service capabilities, and technical readiness.
Analyze competitive solutions within data center thermal systems to identify differentiation and whitespace for FTT products.
Commercial Execution & Sales Enablement
Build go‑to‑market strategies tailored to data center liquid cooling applications.
Train sales teams, distributors, and OEM partners on performance characteristics, coolant compatibility, reliability metrics, flow requirements, and key data‑center‑specific use cases.
Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to support customer engagement, proposal development, and major project pursuit.
Strategic Growth & Portfolio Expansion
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across OEMs, EPC firms, liquid cooling integrators, mechanical contractors, and facility upgrades.
Provide Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to Product Management on market needs related to:
engineered coolants and dielectric fluids
low‑vibration and low‑noise pump requirements
redundancy expectations for mission‑critical cooling
advanced materials and configurations
Support evaluation of new product opportunities and technology roadmaps focused on liquid cooling innovation.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of experience in Business Development or Commercial Leadership within the data center ecosystem, HVAC/mechanical systems, liquid cooling, flow control, pumps, or other mission‑critical infrastructure.
Core Competencies:
Deep understanding of data center cooling architectures and industry trends
Strategic problem‑solving and strong market insight
High commercial acumen and financial literacy
Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort in emerging, fast‑changing markets
Strong customer focus and results‑driven execution
Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field (Mechanical or Thermal Systems background preferred).
Strong network within CDU OEMs, EPC firms, facility engineering teams, or mechanical design consultants.
Knowledge of liquid cooling technologies including CDUs, secondary coolant loops, dielectric fluids, heat exchangers, and facility water systems.
Strong ability to translate technical cooling requirements into commercial value propositions.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
This is a remote‑based position that is to be located near a major airport in the U.S.
30‑50% travel within the United States is expected.
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role, not including incentive opportunities, is $100,000 – $120,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
