Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Project Controller in Saint Louis, MO. Summary: The Project Controller will support a portfolio of complex, high-value projects. This long‑term contract role partners closely with Project Managers and senior finance leaders to ensure strong financial execution, forecasting accuracy, and disciplined project controls. This is not a standard accounting role. The ideal candidate has hands‑on project controlling experience, is comfortable working in SAP, and can support active projects that evolve over time.
Partner with Project Managers to support the financial execution of large‑scale projects.
Prepare and maintain project forecasts, financial analysis, and reporting.
Support cost tracking, invoicing, freight, and financial adjustments.
Manage Estimates at Completion (EAC) and project financial projections.
Identify risks and variances early; clearly communicate financial impacts and drivers.
Work closely with Controllers and Senior Project Controllers on complex projects.
Support a strong financial control environment with a no‑surprises mindset.
Participate in onsite collaboration during onboarding and key project phases.
Requirements
3‑5+ years of experience in project finance, controlling, or a related environment.
Project Controlling experience required (project‑based finance, not purely GL/accounting roles).
SAP experience required.
Strong early‑career candidates may be considered if they have meaningful SAP exposure and real project involvement.
Comfortable partnering with Project Managers and operational teams.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to learn systems and processes quickly.
Advanced Excel skills and experience working cross‑functionally.

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
