
Litigation Legal Assistant

Beacon Hill Legal is assisting a well‑established Edwardsville, Illinois law firm in its search for a Litigation Legal Assistant. The firm represents individuals in complex civil litigation matters and seeks a motivated, detail‑oriented assistant to support attorneys and paralegals with administrative and litigation support functions. This on‑site role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced legal environment and enjoys being integral to trial preparation and case management.
Responsibilities
Calendar management for court hearings, depositions, discovery deadlines, and motion deadlines
Assisting with travel arrangements and expense reporting
Updating and maintaining case information in internal case management systems
Preparing pleadings, correspondence, discovery materials, authorizations, and hearing or trial binders
Filing and serving legal documents, including e‑filing and preparation of declarations or proofs of service
Maintaining tracking charts and internal case documentation
Coordinating depositions with court reporting services and other third parties
Supporting attorneys and paralegals with trial preparation, including scanning, printing, organizing exhibits, preparing binders, assisting witnesses, and delivering materials to the courthouse as needed
Qualifications and Skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Comfortable working independently while also collaborating as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Preferred Experience
One or more years of experience in a law firm or other legal setting (or equivalent administrative experience)
