Medical Staff Coordinator, Full Time
Alan B. Miller Medical Center is opening in Spring 2026. The new 150 private patient rooms, medical office building and helistop will provide comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services.
Responsibilities
Performs diverse duties under minimal supervision to support the Medical Staff Leadership, Medical Staff Departments and Committees, Hospital Department Leadership, and Hospital Administration. Supports the credentialing and re‑credentialing processes for members of the Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals, ensuring that initial applications and reappointment applications are processed in accordance with established policies, rules and regulations, bylaws, and regulatory governmental standards. Participates in projects initiated by the medical staff and accepts other department‑related duties as assigned.
Requires critical thinking skills, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to balance multiple priorities, work in a stressful environment, and take appropriate action. Works independently in a fast‑paced environment, with keen attention to detail, and maintains confidentiality. Supports the Director and Market Director in executing the Medical Staff Department’s responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education Requirements : High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Experience : One (1) year of experience in credentialing in a healthcare or managed care setting.
Skills/Additional Qualifications :
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
NAMSS certification preferred, but not required
Detail‑oriented professional
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
Effective professional business written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer service, organization, planning, and time management skills
License / Certification : Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) from National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) preferred, but not required.
