American Farm Bureau Insurance Services, Inc. (AFBIS, Inc.), provider of support and crop insurance services to Farm Bureau insurance companies, is looking for a Crop Insurance Business Development Manager. The territory for this position will primarily be Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. This position requires regular regional travel to visit client sites and occasional national travel to industry meetings and conferences. Typical business travel is 50% (at times it might be more based on business needs).
As a Crop Insurance Business Development Manager, you will partner with AFBIS teams, AmericanAg®, Farm Bureau® insurance companies, agencies, and their agents in crop insurance sales, marketing, training, and education. This is a key role in developing long-term relationships and is an important point of contact to ensure business growth, retention, and client satisfaction in assigned territories.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify and qualify prospective business targets, leverage multiple channels to recruit new agencies within your assigned territory. Identify new business opportunities to drive revenue growth and diversification. Drive profitable growth by selling a broad, differentiated suite of solutions and managing the existing book of business.
Develop an in-depth understanding of each agent's business model and value proposition, and build customized business plans that capitalize on opportunities aligned with AFBIS growth strategies.
Develop and implement account service plans highlighting deliverables, issues, and technical needs and managing day-to-day agency customer service needs.
Lead client onboarding efforts, agent training and education sessions (in person and virtual) of federal crop, hail, and private product insurance.
Assist in resolving problems and proactively providing value added services to accounts.
Coaching agents in preparing and executing growth strategies and market retention.
Attending and presenting at agent farmer meetings.
Working internally with other team members and departments in a group effort to effectively and efficiently achieve goals.
Act as an ambassador for AFBIS in the marketplace and with our clients
What you will bring to this position:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent
5+ years’ experience in crop insurance sales, training, underwriting, or agency management
Experience identifying and cultivating new business opportunities (preferably in Agriculture/Crop Insurance)
Experience coaching and developing agents is a plus
Knowledge of agriculture and farm management
Strong leadership, decision-making, and analytical skills, along with the ability to work independently
Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
The expected starting salary range for this position is between $100,000 and $130,000. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
