We are currently hiring a dedicated Locum Physician to provide expert care at Blanchard Valley Hospital. In this role, you will manage radiation oncology/therapy patients within a single-provider setting, working Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. You'll see an average of 5-10 scheduled patients daily, handling urgent consults, follow-up visits, and on-treatment cases. Support is readily available from three RNs and a secretary, with advanced equipment including two TrueBeam linear accelerators and Siemens Go-Sim CT Simulator. This position is ideal for those seeking vacation coverage with potential for locum-to-permanent opportunities.
Required Skills:
- Current state licensure in Ohio
- Board Certification in Radiation Oncology
- Valid malpractice insurance with coverage of at least $1 million per occurrence and $3 million annual aggregate
- Availability for assigned dates and flexibility to adapt to scheduling needs
- Ability to perform all required procedures confidently
- Clear communication skills and professionalism
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with locum assignments
- Experience working with advanced radiation therapy equipment
- Knowledge of multiple insurance and billing protocols
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a solo-provider environment
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of a radiation oncology residency
- At least two years of clinical experience post-certification
- Previous locum or temporary work experience is advantageous
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel, with reimbursement options for airfare, rental car (up to $1,000 combined), or mileage
- Ability to obtain and maintain professional liability insurance
- Maintain license and certifications without recent actions or sanctions
- Familiarity with current safety regulations and hospital policies
- Availability for the specified coverage dates, including flexible scheduling around weather or unforeseen circumstances
