Ophthalmology Physician

Retina Specialist/Surgical Ophthalmologist Locums Job Just South of Grand Rapids, Michigan Tuesday & Wednesday Coverage Only

Jackson & Coker is partnered with an Ophthalmology Surgical group based out of Michigan that needs locum tenens coverage starting ASAP (as soon as April - can get you credentialed QUICKLY with an active Michigan license) and ongoing for the foreseeable future. They are seeking candidates to help with coverage at three locations and have specific weekdays that will be spent at each location. Their location in Western Michigan (about an hour south of Grand Rapids) needs coverage on most Tuesdays & Wednesdays beginning in April (specific dates listed below).

Look forward to a consistent locums opportunity starting immediately and the opportunity to work a consistent schedule at one location and/or to have the chance to pick up additional weekdays (have open shifts M-F) at their other locations located close by.

Coverage needed: outpatient only, up to 2-3 weeks per month of M-F coverage, with the option to cover select clinics on specific week days

Specific Tuesday & Wednesday's that need coverage:
Tuesday: May 5, May 26, June 2, June 30, July 7, 14, 21, August 4, 11, September 1, 8, October 6, November 17, December 1, 22, 29
Wednesday: May 6, May 27, June 3, July 1, 8, 15, 22, August 5, 12, September 2, 9, October 7, November 18, December 2, 23, 30

Details/Requirements :
Must have an active Michigan license and/or an active LOQ with the IMLC (will be required to have a Michigan DEA)
Must be actively Board Certified in Ophthalmology
Must be fellowship trained and/or have vast experience in Retinal procedures/cases
Must be experienced with retina injections and management.
Candidates with Fellowships or Retina experience are going to be highly preferred.
Opportunity to also do Retina Surgery once started
Patient volume: 55-60 patients per day
Patient age ranges from 5yo+, but candidates not comfortable seeing pediatric patients are welcome to apply and will be given adult only patients
Procedures: No surgery immediately; Will primarily start out with Retinal injections and retina disease management required. Manage patients with diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, etc.
65% of patients will be retinal injections
