General Job Description

IES Residential is hiring a HVAC Start Up Technician to support our residential new construction team in San Antonio, Tx. This role focuses on commissioning and starting up HVAC systems to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and quality performance. If you're detail-oriented, safety-focused, and enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities

Start up and commission residential HVAC systems in new construction homes
Test and verify system performance; make adjustments as needed
Perform diagnostics to ensure proper equipment operation
Read and interpret blueprints and installation plans
Communicate with builders, superintendents, and homeowners
Complete accurate documentation and reports
Assist with warranty service and emergency calls as needed
Help train and support junior technicians
Qualifications

Minimum Education: None
Minimum Years of Experience: 2-4 years
Experience in residential HVAC (new construction preferred)
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively
Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
High school diploma or GED required
Must pass background check, drug screening, and safety training
Willing to travel to job sites
Work Environment

Residential construction job sites
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity)
Work in attics, crawl spaces, and tight areas
Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and crawling
Comfortable working on ladders and at heights
Ability to stand and move for extended periods
