Summary of Objective
The Maintenance Mechanic duties include installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing equipment while following all work practices and procedures. Technicians will ensure and help maintain a safe work environment, while supporting the internal customer to achieve the site's business goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

Supports the packaging lines by making routine and non-routine adjustments that ensure a high-quality product.

Collaborate with other departments to obtain information or experience to keep lines running at an efficient rate.

Perform preventive maintenance, changeovers, repairs, and running adjustments.

Gather information from a variety of sources, analyze it, identify implications, generate viable alternative solutions, and evaluate consequences.

Assert personal ideas and opinions to convince others, gaining support through actions, examples or ethical persuasion.

Define, diagnose, and resolve problems by logically examining information from different sources to determine root cause and develop action plans to resolve and prevent recurrence.

Provide guidance to others by answering questions, observing work activity, giving direction when necessary, and providing on-the-job training.

Leadership and cross‑functional teamwork with Project Management, Planning, Engineering, and Production is critical to success of new product launches and ongoing production.

OEE improvements focus on rate, yield, and utilization; minimize downtime, mitigate defects, and eliminate waste.

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and services.

May require overtime and/or weekend work.

May require use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).

Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.

Attendance to work is an essential function of this position.

Perform other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Promptly escalates downtime to supervisor.

Perform Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) activities.

Execute initiatives relating to OPEX objectives.

Monitor, adjust, and provide technical expertise or training to meet or exceed Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets.

Assume responsibility and job functions of a supervisor when unavailable.

Attend and actively participate in problem definition and counter‑measure meetings (Tier I and Tier II).

Document and drive actions for the value stream.

Audit the centerline document system to ensure sustainability and high productivity.

Audit and maintain 5’s in the facility to support a safe, organized, clean, high‑performing workplace.

Attend Tier I Daily Directional Setting meetings and provide follow‑up and feedback as needed.

Analyze equipment failures to improve overall reliability while maintaining productivity.

Update setup documentation to keep all settings current and accurate.

Work with Business Units and Scheduling to maintain accurate timelines for launches or validations of products.

Qualifications
Required

Skills testing requirements met at approved grade level for position.

Basic Mathematical Skills.

Basic Computer Skills: ability to perform basic computer tasks and operate common programs.

Minimum Professional Proficiency: ability to speak and read in a way that allows effective participation and comprehension of standard materials.

High Reasoning: ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in diverse forms.

High School Diploma and/or 3–5 years related experience and/or training.

Preferred

Ability to effectively present information to various audiences.

Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Professional manner and strong attention to detail.

Results‑driven mindset.

2‑year degree or Certificate.

Excellent time‑management skills.

Compensation and Benefits
For Illinois residents: The hiring range for this position is $27.27 - $32.38/hour plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus. PCI offers full‑time employees a competitive benefits package including paid time off, health, dental, vision insurance, flexible spending account, and 401(k).
