Role
The Toyota Financial Services Treasury Accounting group is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Treasury Accounting Analyst. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare and record journal entries, prepare and/or review account reconciliations, and prepare various reporting requirements. This may also include reviewing journal entries, analyses and disclosures prepared by other team members or contingent staff as assigned. Reporting to the Treasury Accounting Supervisor, the Treasury Accounting Analyst will support the daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting requirements for the Treasury Accounting group.
What You’ll Be Doing
Participating in month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and rollforwards to ensure the accuracy of reported information
Participating in quarterly and annual SEC, global reporting, governmental or statutory reporting processes including but not limited to developing and/or updating financial reporting and related disclosures for use in the SEC or parent reporting processes
Completing monthly/quarterly/annually SOX compliance testing
Assisting with departmental projects and ad‑hoc requests. Such projects or tasks may include assisting with subledger or systems upgrades, new product implementation, spreadsheet controls or automation, internal controls design or implementation
Identifying potential opportunities for improvement in the accounting, tax, and finance areas
Gaining a thorough understanding of TFS business
Gaining an in‑depth understanding of TFS Accounting policies, systems, and processes
Research and identify how upcoming changes to FASB and SEC guidance could potentially impact TMCC and TFSB’s investment accounting and reporting requirements
Develop processes and procedures and related documentation (including flowcharts) to support ongoing efforts to reduce operating costs and improve overall internal controls
Developing improved reporting and analytics to support managerial decision making
Participate in key accounting or treasury initiatives as the treasury accounting subject matter expert
What You Bring
Four‑Year College Degree (BA or BS) in Accounting, Finance or related field
3+ years of relevant work experience in similar field and/or industry
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a demanding, project‑oriented environment
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and more complex formulas (i.e., macros, SumIf, Vlookup, pivot tables, Power Query)
Added bonus if you have
MBA or advanced degree
CPA preferred
1+ years with a public accounting firm or other professional service firm
Experience in financial services industry preferred
Experience in financial analysis, financial markets, or capital markets accounting services is preferred
Working knowledge of treasury accounting and reporting requirements including debt, derivatives, and investments (ASC 815, 820 and 825) preferred
