Associate Financial Planner (Remote or Fairfax, VA)
We are looking for an Associate Financial Planner to assist Financial Planners in ensuring client happiness while following all regulatory issues.
Responsibilities
Performs financial planning analyses for clients including retirement, investments, estate, tax, education funding, real estate, and risk management needs.
Prepares presentations, research, and supporting materials for client meetings and reviews.
Conducts assessments of clients and prospects’ evolving financial planning needs, proactively identifying new opportunities.
Provides reports on minimum distributions, performance, billing, insurance policies, and tax consequences.
Calculates required minimum distributions, income needs, tax consequences, and contributions/withdrawals.
Provides high-level contact with clients to maintain and improve the client relationship.
Maintains a proven understanding of the industry, products, and trends.
Requirements
Minimum 1-3 years of financial services industry experience, specifically in a broker/dealer or registered investment advisor environment.
FINRA Series 65 required.
Bachelor’s degree in business or finance; or equivalent proven experience.
Certified Financial Planner designation preferred.
Financial Services & insurance sales experience preferred.
Good understanding of finance and investment markets/securities.
Attention to detail, ability to coordinate work, and follow-up skills are crucial to the successful performance of position responsibilities.
Ability to prioritize and address multiple projects and meet deadlines is crucial.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Detailed knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel is a must.
Compensation: The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $83,500 to $111,300. Final base pay will be determined based on responsibilities, job‑related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
