Senior Financial and Accounting Analyst

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst / Senior Accountant to join a mid-size organization supporting core accounting and operational finance functions. This individual will play a key role in the month-end close process, preparing journal entries, managing account reconciliations, and supporting fixed asset accounting.
Responsibilities

Own and maintain the general ledger for assigned entities/accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Prepare, review, and post monthly standard journal entries, including fixed assets, as part of month-end and quarter-end close processes.
Perform detailed balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Support and help drive month-end and quarter-end close activities, ensuring deadlines and quality expectations are met.
Lead fixed asset accounting processes, including monthly fixed asset entries, capital project spend approvals, and tracking and reporting of Construction in Progress (CIP) balances.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners (FP&A, Operations, etc.) to ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules; support variance analysis and provide operational insights to management.
Analyze financial results, prepare variance explanations, and provide insight into trends to management
Utilize the ERP system for reporting, data pulls, and reconciliations
Support internal and external audit requests by providing schedules and documentation as needed
Qualifications

5–7 years of accounting experience with a strong general ledger focus
Hands-on experience owning journal entries and month-end close
Experience leading and owning fixed asset processes
Proven experience preparing account reconciliations (balance sheet focus)
Strong experience working within an ERP system
Ability to analyze financial results, investigate variances, and explain trends
Strong Excel and analysis skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
Job Type: 6-month contract to permanent hire opportunity
Hourly Pay: $35-$45/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
