Assignment Overview
  • Coverage Needed: 6 24-hour call shifts per month

  • Shift Time: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Length of Need: Ongoing

  • Reason for Coverage: Departure of Sports Medicine/Shoulder/Joint Surgeon

  • Setting: Inpatient Call Coverage

  • EMR: EPIC

  • Trauma Level: Level I Trauma Center

Call Structure
  • Weekdays & weekends included

  • APC handles first call

  • Surgeon goes in as needed

  • Part of trauma call team

  • Orthopedic hospitalist APC rounds daily and weekends

Practice Environment
  • Group shares monthly call with 2 employed + 2 private physicians

  • Current gap: 6 call days/month (plus vacation/illness coverage)

  • Standard ED and trauma support available:

    • RN

    • RNFA

    • APC

Clinical Expectations
  • Typical orthopedic trauma and general orthopedic surgical care

  • Patient encounters: Variable per shift

  • Hospital inpatient consults and operative management as indicated

Requirements
  • Board Certified Orthopedic Surgery

  • Active license required (no licensing candidates accepted)

  • Vaccination: Annual Influenza vaccine (or mask compliance)
