Essential Responsibilities
Own the performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of enterprise Wi-Fi services across two campuses, supporting 1,700+ access points, guest networks, Mist Edge controllers, and diverse client devices.
Administer and enhance wired network infrastructure, including Juniper and Cisco switching environments.
Diagnose and resolve complex wired and wireless connectivity issues across a wide range of devices.
Communicate clearly with end users and stakeholders throughout the troubleshooting lifecycle, setting expectations and providing timely updates.
Manage critical network services including RADIUS authentication, DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (IPAM).
Maintain and optimize network monitoring, alerting, and configuration management.
Perform certificate management and updates across multi-vendor network platforms.
Plan and execute network upgrades, patching, and lifecycle maintenance to ensure security and high availability.
Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and respond to critical after-hours incidents as needed.
Partner with internal teams to identify root causes, improve network performance, and enhance user experience.
Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and operational best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
4+
years supporting enterprise Wi-Fi environments with 200+ access points.
2+
years supporting LAN environments with 100+ managed switches including troubleshooting, software upgrades, and hardware support.
Demonstrated Experience With:
Juniper Mist wireless and switching
Cisco IOS switching
VLANs, STP, PoE, and link aggregation
IPv4, DNS, DHCP, SNMP
OSPF
Experience Troubleshooting Connectivity Across:
Desktop – Windows and Mac
Mobile – Apple IOS, Android, Other
Various IoT platforms
Proactively manage user expectations by providing timely ticket updates and end-to-end communication throughout the troubleshooting lifecycle.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools:
Visio: logical and physical network diagrams
Excel: formulas, data manipulation, text manipulation, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting
Word: styling, tables, graphics, TOC, watermarking
Outlook: calendar invites, tasks, contacts, autoreplies
Demonstrated Ability to:
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Shift your focus from one task to another based on support needs
Meet deadlines with attention to detail and accountability
Work independently and collaboratively
Communicate technical information clearly and tactfully
Exercise sound judgment in complex situations
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and transport up to 100 pounds on a cart among campus buildings.
Must be able to work on ladders (6-10 ft) to access network equipment.
Hands‑on experience with:
Juniper EX (4000/4400/4650) switches and Virtual Chassis
JunOS and MX204 routers
Cisco Catalyst switches 3850, 4510, 4500‑X
Demonstrated understanding of IPv4 subnetting (/20–/24). IPv6 knowledge a plus.
SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) and Network Configuration Manager (NCM)
Efficient IP SolidServer (DDI)
Jira or similar ticketing systems
Familiarity with AWS Route 53
Relevant certifications: Juniper JNCIS‑Mist AI‑Wireless, JNCIS‑Mist AI‑Wired, JNCIS‑ENT, Cisco CCNA
Applicable training courses for the technologies listed in this job posting.
Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama is a plus.
Project management experience is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and supporting networks in higher education environments.
Advanced experience with Juniper Mist at scale (~8,000+ daily connections).
Experience maintaining a guest Wi‑Fi portal in Mist.
Location Requirement

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $92,000 - $122,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting.
