Role Summary
The Ramp Agent is responsible for loading and offloading passengers’ baggage, ensuring they are accounted for and well taken care of. They also look out for the safety and well-being of each other and help ensure flights arrive and depart on time. This is a union represented position.

Key Duties

Loading, stowing and unloading all cargo and baggage in accordance with flight loading plans.

Pick-up and delivery of all cargo, including mail, express, baggage, freight company material, and commissary supplies.

Preparation, reporting and accounting of necessary documents relating to work performed.

Cleaning of aircraft baggage pits and immediate work areas.

Operation of automotive equipment in connection with the above duties, only after proper training.

Insert and remove chocks and safety lines.

When mechanical personnel are not immediately available, may receive and dispatch aircraft.

Maintain cleaning duties for offices and surrounding areas as needed, only as service requirements dictate.

Required

Willing and able to work outside in the elements.

Able to lift 70 lbs. throughout the shift.

Able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.

Willing and able to work in confined spaces, lifting baggage overhead frequently, operating heavy machinery near the aircraft, driving tugs, and more.

Holds a valid, unexpired driver’s license issued by a U.S. state, territory or the District of Columbia.

Flexible to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.

Ability to obtain airport security clearance.

Ability to communicate in English.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum age of 18.

Authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

Airport ramp experience.

Physical labor experience and/or warehouse experience.

Pay Details
Starting Rate: USD $19.43/hr.

Sign‑On Bonus Available to External Candidates Only

$2,500 paid out at 60 days

$2,500 paid out at 6 months

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar must obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing. Failure to qualify or if the badge is pulled from an employee will result in termination.
