
Maintenance Technician

General Responsibilities
Performs minor and major repair of both Illinois and Missouri facilities and equipment.
Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
Keeps maintenance room, machines and tools clean, neat and orderly.
May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.
Maintains tools and machinery in good conditions and uses all tools carefully and as instructed.
General knowledge of various types of equipment used in the building trades.
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds and have reliable transportation.
Must be able to bend, twist, push and pull.
Must have a can‑do, positive attitude, and the ability to thrive working in a fast‑paced team environment.
Must pass a background check and drug test.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Mechanical
Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
Makes preventive maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
Plumbing
May work as a plumber in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems.
Carpentry
Act as a carpenter in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs, stairways, doors, and windows.
Electrical
Serves as electrician in repairing minor electrical malfunctions and installing new equipment.
Installs electrical wiring and equipment; new electrical services, wiring during remodeling projects; replaces and repairs wiring as needed.
Repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electrical switches; repairs refrigeration equipment.
Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
Keeps maintenance room, machines and tools clean, neat and orderly.
May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed.
Site
Maintain the grounds in accordance with relevant regulations and agency standards.
Develop, implement and review regularly site-specific maintenance logs.
Evaluate long‑term needs in relation to major projects and property improvements.
Complete corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with company operating procedures and practices.
Equipment
Ensures that major equipment and furnishings are maintained and in safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement or repair.
Attends and participates in training opportunities, workshops and seminars relevant to this position.
Education
Electrical and/or Maintenance, Technical School degree or certificate.
Skills and Abilities
Prefer troubleshooting skills in the following areas: Hydraulic and electrical: press brake, shear, iron worker, overhead cranes, compressors, forklifts, motors & controls and welding machines.
Hand Tool: Grinders, drills, air tools.
General building maintenance: plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting.
Safety inspections: cranes, forklifts, scissor lift, ladders, fall prevention and rigging & lifting hardware.
