
Back Up Care - Customer Service Rep.

Responsibilities
Serve as a Customer Care Specialist on the Back Up Care team.
Collaborate with multiple client companies, handling their employees’ childcare needs.
Receive inbound calls from employees and place outbound calls to internal networks (child‑care centers or at‑home options) to find immediate solutions.
Document calls in CRM, noting that the Back Up Care team and the internal calling team do not communicate directly.
Facilitate resolution for employees whose primary childcare provider is unavailable, allowing them to continue working.

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Minimum 1 year of customer service, help‑desk, or call‑center experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with accurate documentation of call content
Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills, and teamwork capability
Typing speed of 35 wpm or higher; advanced data‑entry skills preferred
Proficient with basic Microsoft Outlook and general computer functions (copy, paste, etc.)
Ability and willingness to learn new software systems
Capacity to assess caller needs and obtain necessary information without a scripted process
Exposure to higher education (associate, bachelor’s, etc.) – nice to have
