Starting Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 /year with a $2,500 Sign-on Bonus.
ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a growing dynamic organization, is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year.
As a Special Education Teacher, you will lead the instructional process for students in Grades K-12 with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Responsibilities include delivering instruction, integrating educational software, creating lesson plans, and maintaining student progress documentation.
Creating an inclusive environment with students, parents, and staff.
Establishing a respectful classroom climate and students PBIS.
Implementing school-wide and classroom-specific PBIS strategies.
Tracking and documenting student progress.
Delivering differentiated instruction individually or co‑teaching.
Adapting curriculum to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Using engaging instructional methods and educational software.
Managing student caseload and IEP implementation.
Preparing daily lesson plans and organizing materials.
Maintaining a safe classroom environment.
Staying informed on current research-based practices.
Responding to feedback from evaluations.
Supporting school community by performing additional duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field.
Valid Alabama teaching credential (or in process).
Valid Alabama special education instruction credential (or in process).
Certification in crisis management training.
Experience with curriculum development and differentiation.
Experience with special education services for students with disabilities.
Experience with IEP implementation.
Proven success developing effective education plans.
Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to think and act calmly in emergencies.
Knowledge of instructional technology and Microsoft Office.
