LOCUM TENENS - OB/GYN FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA

QUICK HITS (KEY DETAILS)

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Contract Length: Through Aug/Sept (extension possible; locums-to-perm option)

  • Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8a-5p (1-hour lunch)

  • Call: 1:4 secondary call (not in-house)

  • Setting: Outpatient clinic + call (midwives are primary)

  • Location Requirement: Locals only

AVAILABILITY / SCHEDULE

  • Clinic Hours: Mon-Fri, 8a-5p

  • Shift Breakdown:

    • 8a-12p

    • 1p-5p

  • Call Structure:

    • 1 in 4 secondary call

    • Midwives are first call

    • OB/GYN only called for:

      • High-risk deliveries

      • C-sections

    • Laborist group provides backup coverage

CLINICAL DETAILS

  • Deliveries at Medical Center

  • Volume: 18-21 patients per day

  • Patient Population: Ages 13+ to geriatrics

  • EMR: EPIC (highly preferred)

SCOPE / SKILLS REQUIRED

Core Clinical Work:

  • Initial OB visits and routine OB care

  • Postpartum care and incision checks

  • Well Woman Exams (all ages)

  • Confirmation of pregnancy (>7 weeks with bedside ultrasound)

Procedures:

  • IUD and Nexplanon insertion/removal

  • Biopsies

  • I&D for cysts

  • LEEP, colposcopy, EMB, cryotherapy

  • Cervical polyp management

Problem Visits:

  • UTI, STI

  • Menopause / HRT

  • Breast pain

REQUIREMENTS (LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS)

  • Board Certified - OB/GYN

  • Active California License (unrestricted)

  • DEA required

  • BLS or ACLS

  • Minimum 2+ years experience

  • Completed accredited 4-year OB/GYN residency

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Comfortable with clinic and call (preferred)

  • Open to full scope OB/GYN

  • Will consider outpatient-only candidates

  • Available for at least 3 months (extension likely)
