Certified Nurse Midwife - Labor & DeliveryLocation: John Day, OR - Boise 3hr; Portland 5hrEmployment Type: Full Time, permanent position Position SummaryThe Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to women of all ages. This role involves collaboration with other healthcare professionals to enhance women's health in the community. Key responsibilities include prenatal care, labor and delivery assistance, postpartum care, routine women's health exams, and patient education.The CNM participates in continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives and promotes best practices in women's health care. Duties & Responsibilities Deliver patient-centered care aligned with the mission, vision, and values of the organization Provide prenatal assessments, screenings, and education to expectant mothers Assist during labor and delivery, managing complications and providing emotional and physical support Direct and coordinate nursing care for labor and delivery patients Provide postpartum assessments and support for mothers and newborns Offer breastfeeding assistance and education on newborn care Perform routine women's health exams including gynecology, breast exams, contraception, and menopause management Lead and teach prenatal classes Maintain accurate and timely medical records, submitting encounter and billing data appropriately Participate in medical staff meetings, interdisciplinary team discussions, and quality improvement initiatives Follow hospital-approved policies and assist in developing new policies for the L&D department Maintain collaborative working relationships with staff, patients, and community organizations Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Nursing Officer Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Advanced clinical skills, including suturing and emergency care Ability to prioritize effectively in critical situations Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent judgment and decision-making abilities Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including CMS and National Patient Safety Goals Education & Experience RequirementsRequired: Master's degree in Nurse-Midwifery or related field Prior experience in labor and delivery or midwifery practice AMCB Certification (American Midwifery Certification Board)Preferred: Lactation Consultant certification Certification & License RequirementsRequired: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification
