Overview
The Cath Lab Monitor Tech plays a critical role in healthcare settings by continuously observing and interpreting patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms to ensure timely detection of any abnormalities. This position requires vigilance and precision to monitor patients during Cardiac Catheterization, Neurovascular and Peripheral Vascular procedures while simultaneously using advanced Siemens Sensis Vibe Hemodynamic monitoring system. The primary goal is to provide accurate and immediate information to the clinical team, enabling prompt medical interventions when necessary. The Cath Lab Monitor Tech acts as an essential communication link between patients and healthcare providers, contributing to patient safety and quality of care. This role demands a strong understanding of cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, procedural sterility, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Monitor Technician training program or equivalent experience in cardiac monitoring.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and hemodynamics monitoring.
Ability to take on call for emergency procedures if needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification as a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) or equivalent.
Experience working in a hospital telemetry unit or cardiac care setting.
Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
Continuously monitor cardiac, hemodynamic and vital signs of patients using the Siemens Sensis Vibe specialized equipment.
Identify and promptly report any abnormal cardiac rhythms or changes in patient status to the physician and clinical team during procedures.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient monitoring data and events.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure patient safety and effective response to emergencies.
Perform routine equipment checks and ensure proper functioning of monitoring devices.
Charge supplies and order supplies.
