Cybersecurity Systems Administrator
Kennedy Space Center, Florida, United States – On‑Site

Aegis Aerospace supports NASA’s mission at Kennedy Space Center under the Consolidated Operations Management and Test (COMET) contract, providing mission‑critical engineering, operations, and technical support for ground systems that enable spacecraft processing, launch operations, and space exploration programs, including Artemis and other NASA initiatives.

Responsibilities

Deploy, monitor, and maintain cybersecurity tools across multiple systems.

Collaborate with team and system owners to proactively identify and resolve potential technical issues or improve system security posture.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cybersecurity tool performance, data accuracy, and availability.

Ensure systems are hardened and maintain compliance with cybersecurity standards.

Perform periodic system upgrades and patches between critical operations.

Use vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus, analyze scan results, assess risk levels, and prioritize remediation efforts.

Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues encountered by system administrators.

Define, document, and follow standards and best practices for system design, testing, and implementation.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an IT field and at least 15 years of IT experience.

Experience in Linux system administration.

Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for task automation.

Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency required if offered a position.
