This role is ideal for an experienced CST with trauma center or teaching hospital experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity surgical environment.

Qualifications
Licensure : Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
Experience :
Minimum of 3+ years of recent Operating Room experience (within the last 4 years).
Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center, teaching hospital, or similar facility.
Scrub experience required.
First‑time travelers must have experience in similarly sized/level hospitals.
Technical Skills (Required Experience in the following specialties) :

Additional Preferred Experience in the following specialties :
Neurosurgery
Bariatric
GU (Genitourinary)
Experience in Adult OR or equivalent specialty size
No First Assist (per New York State regulation)
Soft Skills :
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain sterile technique under pressure.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are set up correctly and functioning prior to procedures.
Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, and sponges during operations, anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
Count sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures to ensure patient safety.
Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control protocols at all times.
Handle specimens appropriately and prepare them for laboratory analysis as directed.
Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping prior to surgical incision.
Clean and restock the operating room between cases, including proper handling of contaminated instruments and disposal of sharps and biohazard waste.
Monitor and maintain surgical equipment and instruments, reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs.
Collaborate with circulating nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia providers to ensure efficient and safe patient care throughout the perioperative process.
Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with surgical techniques and technologies.
