We are seeking an Architect with 5–7 years experience who is passionate about residential architecture and modern design to join our team in our new Gowanus studio. Millward Architecture + Design is a small firm making a big impact on people’s everyday lives. Our approach is grounded in curiosity and informed by empathy. We’re looking for top talent for our growing team. Here you’ll touch dozens of projects and actually see your work built.
Responsibilities
Lead projects under the direction of the principal and with the support of the team.
Generate designs and presentations.
Produce construction drawings and details.
Ensure compliance of building codes and studio standards.
Manage schedules and coordination of clients, contractors, consultants, city agencies and vendors.
Execute construction administration including review of shop drawings and submittals.
Qualifications
5–7 years experience.
Leadership position: able to take a project from concept through construction, critical thinker, problem solver, and able to manage multiple projects.
Experience with NYC residential projects and all phases of architecture.
High level of proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp and Enscape.
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
Knowledge of NYC building codes, zoning and LPC processes.
Keen interest in detailing and materials.
Currently live in the New York City Area. This is a full‑time, in‑person position.
