Overview
Under supervision (Examiner I) of the Building Official, performs technical plans exam work (Examiner I) in evaluating, interpreting, investigating, and enforcing construction and development codes and related laws and ordinances to ensure public health, safety, and welfare. The Plans Examiner I
is the entry-level classification of the job series. The Examiner I is distinguished from the Examiner II by performing work under supervision of department staff.
