Elaine Sterling Institute is seeking a dynamic and student-focused Career Services & Externship Coach to lead job placement efforts for our Dunwoody campus while supporting externship coordination for the Medical Assistant program across both Dunwoody and Lenox locations.
This role is critical to student success and focuses on career coaching, employer partnerships, externship placement, and driving strong employment outcomes for graduates.
What You’ll Do
Lead job placement efforts for students and graduates
Build and maintain relationships with employers, including spas, salons, medical offices, wellness centers, externship sites and barbershops (and more)
Provide career coaching, including resume development, interview preparation, and professional readiness
Match students and graduates with employment opportunities aligned with their career goals
Track and report placement rates and employment outcomes
Externship Coordination (Medical Assistant Program – All Locations)
Develop and manage externship site partnerships for the Medical Assistant program
Place students into externships beginning at 300 program hours
Serve as liaison between students and externship site managers, resolving issues as needed
Collect and track student externship hours and ensure accurate entry into the SIS system
Monitor externship progress to ensure successful completion
Serve as a key point of contact between students, graduates, and employers
Collaborate with Admissions, Education, and Student Services teams to support students from enrollment through employment
Contribute to a culture focused on student achievement and career success
Qualifications
Experience in career services, job placement, workforce development, education, or a related field preferred
Strong networking, recruiting, and relationship‑building skills
Ability to coach and prepare students for employment success
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, follow‑up, and communication skills
Passion for student success and career development
