The Amazon Robotics Autonomous Mobility software team develops the autonomy software that powers Proteus, Amazon’s first fully autonomous warehouse robot. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our perception and localization team. You will be part of an exceptional group of engineers building the platform and architecture for our onboard mapping, perception, motion planning and control software. In addition, you will collaborate with engineers and scientists across the team to develop and enhance our robotic AI capabilities.
Key Job Responsibilities
Evaluating and integrating new sensors into the autonomy software stack.
Developing sensor fusion techniques for obstacle detection and localization.
Developing software for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) shared across a robot fleet.
Developing machine-learning capabilities and infrastructure for robotic perception and localization.
Optimizing runtime performance of autonomy algorithms by exploiting underlying hardware acceleration capabilities.
Building frameworks for large-scale replay and analysis of events in pre-recorded sensor data.
Building frameworks to monitor and manage resource utilization on embedded compute platform.
Building visualization tools for analyzing and debugging robot behavior.

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience with perception, localization, sensor-fusion, computer-vision, or machine-learning for robotics
Expertise in modern C++ and experience with python
Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) or similar robotic frameworks
Experience with CUDA or GPU programming
Experience with AWS services and technologies
