
Business Development Coordinator

Arnold & Porter’s Marketing Department is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to join our team in New York or Washington, DC. This role supports a wide range of business development and marketing initiatives, with a primary focus on transactional practice groups.
Working closely with attorneys, business development managers, and marketing colleagues, the Coordinator contributes to pitches and proposals, legal directory submissions, and the planning and execution of events, including webinars, sponsorships, and conferences. This position reports to the Director of Business Development and may also support other practices, industry groups, and firm initiatives as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of RFPs, pitches, and proposals from initial planning through final submission:
Collaborate with attorneys and internal teams to draft and refine materials
Identify and tailor relevant content for each opportunity
Coordinate research and data requests across departments
Manage production, delivery, and recordkeeping of submissions
Track outcomes and follow up on opportunities
Assist Business Development Managers and Specialists with practice group marketing initiatives, including sponsorships and presentations
Manage matter collection and coordinate internal and external deal reporting, including league table submissions
Prepare and coordinate submissions for legal directories and publications such as Chambers, The Legal 500, and Law360
Coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual events, including conferences, seminars, and speaking engagements; provide on-site support as needed
Maintain the firm’s experience database (Foundation) and practice-specific deal lists
Support targeted client outreach efforts, including development of contact lists for business development initiatives
Edit and produce client communications, newsletters, and related materials
Update and maintain marketing collateral, including brochures, one-pagers, presentations, attorney bios, and experience lists, ensuring consistency with firm branding
Qualification
Bachelor’s degree required
At least one year of experience in marketing, business development, or proposals, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
Familiarity with legal marketing and proposal processes preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with tools such as Foundation and InterAction is a plus
Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and strong project management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the firm
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information
The anticipated base salary for this position is $58,298 to $75,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

The firm may provide a discretionary bonus annually.
