Low Voltage Technician – Prism Electric
This role involves installing and maintaining low voltage systems such as structured cabling, optical fiber, and related equipment.
Responsibilities
Follow safe work practices and company/client site policies to maintain safety as the top priority.
Assist the project team with installation activities including OSP, ISP, rack, stack, patch, pathways, labeling, troubleshooting, and testing.
Use basic hand and power tools to perform assigned job site tasks.
Maintain job site organization and housekeeping, collecting debris and addressing hazardous conditions promptly.
Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets.
Learn materials and methodologies for structured cabling systems (Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6e, Cat7, Fiber Optics).
Comply with customer security requirements.
Requirements
High School Diploma or commensurate experience.
Must be able to pass drug and background screens.
Dependable vehicle for transportation to and from work.
Ability to work 8-10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, including overtime and night shifts.
Fitness to perform physical tasks such as crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, carrying or lifting objects heavier than 50 lbs and pushing/pulling.
Physical Demands
Physical work is a primary component (more than 70%) of the job. Employees must be able to perform repetitive arm, hand, and finger movements and wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat and safety glasses.
