JOB SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Assistant provides administrative and technical support to the Quality Management System at a facility specializing in the overhaul and repair of turbine engine components for major airlines and engine manufacturers worldwide. This position is responsible for maintaining quality records, supporting regulatory compliance activities, and assisting Quality Assurance personnel with internal audits, documentation control, and data management.

The role ensures accurate recordkeeping, timely data entry, and proper document retention in accordance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company procedures, contributing to the continued airworthiness, safety, and quality performance of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Generate, Authorized Release Certificates and other shipping documents, including FAA Form 8130‑3, Certificates of Conformance, Material Certifications, and other customer or regulatory-required records, ensuring accuracy and compliance prior to product release.

Support production and quality planning activities by assisting in the creation, revision, and control of work instructions in accordance with approved technical data and quality procedures.

Maintain revision control of quality-related documents and forms, including inspection reports, process forms, quote sheets, checklists, and controlled templates, ensuring current revisions are approved, distributed, and used.

Control, organize, and maintain technical data libraries, including engine manufacture manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, customer specifications, regulatory references, and internal procedures.

Manage quality records and document retention, including scanning, filing, archiving, and retrieval of paper and electronic records in accordance with regulatory, customer, and company retention policies. Monitor and help maintain document control processes, ensuring obsolete documents are removed from point of use and that controlled documents are properly identified and accessible to authorized personnel.

Assist Quality Assurance personnel with audit preparation and support, including gathering records, organizing evidence, and responding to requests during FAA, customer, and third‑party audits.

Support corrective action and continuous improvement activities by assisting with data collection, tracking corrective action status, maintaining logs, and preparing documentation related to nonconformances, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Interface with internal departments, including Production, Engineering, Materials, and Planning, to support quality documentation needs, resolve record discrepancies, and ensure regulatory and customer requirements are understood and followed.

Perform other quality‑related duties as assigned, consistent with the role and in support of the overall Quality Management System.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of three (3) years of previous office experience, preferably in a technical or production‑oriented environment.

Demonstrated experience of above average organizational skills and attention to detail.

Keyboard ability at or about fifty (50) words per minute.

High School diploma with some college courses preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

High accuracy rate of data entry, written and verbal communication.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other types of business software.

Ability to understand (read and write) the English language.

Some experience working individually on projects and data.

Exposure to and/or familiarity with technical documentation, such as ISO 9001 helpful.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position has pre‑employment testing requirements that may require fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.

Follow general shop safety procedures including the occasional use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, and hearing protection.

Stand and/or sit for portions of the shift.

May be required to lift heavy equipment using hoists, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other handling methods.
