
Project Logistics Manager

As a Logistics Project Manager with our Fluid Solutions Division at United Rentals, you will provide leadership, supervision and support to ensure pump, tank, dewatering, sewer bypass or other large projects involving substantial Fluid Solutions products and applications run smoothly and efficiently to optimize customer service. You are the onsite project lead who will optimize and coordinate equipment and staffing logistics. You’ll deploy and oversee the work of Service Technicians and all onsite employees, and act as the primary customer contact for the duration of the project.
What you’ll do:
Manage project team logistics day-to-day activities, including scheduling, equipment setup/deployment, and breakdown
Provide leadership and supervision needed to consistently deliver World-Class service to external customers at the project site
Motivate, coach and train Service Technicians and other onsite employees to exceed customer commitments and expectations as well as to comply with site policies, procedures and customer requirements
Staff each project adequately based on skills and workload; schedule all project employees and maintain accurate and up-to-date time & attendance records
Responsible for performance management of project employees
Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability and communication
Ensure total compliance as well as prompt incident/accident
ear miss investigations and resolution
Ensure all employees continually maintain all required certifications and licenses to work on project or event equipment and applications
Participate in pre-project planning meetings, including job walks with OSRs, and strategy sessions
Maintain and track project expenses to ensure project profitability
Other duties assigned as needed
Requirements:
High School diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred
High level technical working knowledge of Fluid Solutions products and applications, with strong customer service and relationship skills
Extensive leadership experience in large scale projects or events, using Fluid Solutions products
Excellent project management and logistical oversight skills; sales experience a plus
Proficient in Microsoft applications and systems (Excel, Word, Outlook, RentalMan)
Result oriented with ability to influence others
Demonstrated strengths in logistical planning, analysis, prioritizing and problem solving
Strong leadership, performance management and coaching skills
Strong communication, organizational and delegation skills
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
