Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work Hybrid with our client in Indianapolis, IN. Interested?
Pay: $63.16 / hr.
Hours: 40 hrs/Week.
Length: Contract (12 months).
Here's what you'd do:
Develop and deliver new component designs and design changes for high-performance gas turbine gears (and related transmission components such as shafts, bearings, and seals), including creating design concepts, optimising, finalising, creating drawings/model-based definitions, and releasing hardware.
Perform strength, lifting, durability, and performance analyses to validate component suitability for new engine applications or life extension of existing ones.
Manage dimensional tolerance stacks, GD&T, and tolerance analysis to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability of gear systems.
Interface with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and aftermarket teams: review supplier documentation, assess non-conforming hardware, handle change proposals, support production and service issues.
Conduct investigations of in-service or prototype hardware issues, including failure analysis, root cause & corrective action (RCCA), and implement design improvements.
Present and defend design solutions to programme leadership, collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (analysis, manufacturing, materials, MRO).
Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace design standards, safety, and product integrity principles.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Gas Turbine.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering / Aerospace Designs.
Minimum 5 years of mechanical/component design experience, preferably in gear systems, rotating equipment or aerospace applications.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Master's Degree.
PhD.
Competitor Experience.
