School Attendance Secretary
To assist in providing clerical support to the principal, school staff and students, which involves student records, Skyward administration (or other student management reporting system), accuracy of state reporting, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma (or GED) (or related)
One-year experience
Knowledge of typing, office machines, and computers
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Regular and reliable on-site attendance to perform job duties, collaborate with colleagues, and serve students and stakeholders.
Work cooperatively with colleagues, supervisors, and administrators.
Demonstrate ethical behavior.
Engage in self-development.
Follow district policies and administrative rules and regulations.
Maintain behavior appropriate to performing and accomplishing assigned duties.
Know what to do to successfully complete assigned work.
Project an over-all concern for personal appearance as it relates to job performance.
Must have expertise in public relations work on the telephone, and in person, being able to relate well with people.
Provide assistance to students, staff, parents and visitors entering office.
Frequent dissemination of procedures to parents and school personnel is required, responding to frequent telephone inquiries, relaying or recording messages accurately to or for appropriate persons.
Have knowledge of office procedures, good secretarial skills, typing, bookkeeping, use of copy machine, or any office machines used by the individual offices.
Provide secretarial support for immediate supervisor or for any office as directed.
Project a positive image of the Germantown Municipal Schools at all times.
Keep information confidential concerning school business.
Follow working instructions as directed by immediate supervisor.
Maintain attendance records and student data in PowerSchool (or other student management system).
Help with record keeping.
Help with receptionist and telephone duties.
Help with dispensing medication to students.
Help with bookstore duties.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
